Sydney is the largest commercial city in Australia, with the most diverse amount of corporate business and thus a recruitment community to reflect this.

A financial hub for Australia and the Asia Pacific, Sydney has a financial services workforce half the size of London's and approaching half New York's (© The Crown in right of the State of New South Wales 2001-2010) All five of the major global executive search firms have a strong presence in Sydney, with a small representation from the ‘second tier’ international search firms.

There are many highly respected privately owned executive search firms who have strong generalist market coverage and there are an increasing number of smaller specialist search providers having an impact within their own industry sectors.

After being severely impacted in 2008 and 2009 we have certainly seen renewed and continued investment from the corporate market with regards their own internal recruitment teams. We are being briefed on opportunities at all levels for experienced recruiters looking to further their career on client side.
