Search practices Executive Search is about people. It is about providing an insight into the best people in the market at that present moment in time as opposed to the best person who happens to be actively looking at the moment.
Many firms claim to be able to undertake search in the recruitment industry, but the reality is that they cannot. This is due to a variety of reasons – generally due to the lack of experience of the consultant who is undertaking the "search", but also the fact that the consultant is likely to be approaching individuals from an organisation where their firm currently has a relationship.
Our code of ethics is strongly upheld within Hemisphere, in that we will never actively approach a consultant who is working for a client that we have agreed to form a partnership with. Because we work with only a select amount of recruitment firms in the Australian market and across the U.K. and Asia we can confidently say that our ability to source the best people across these markets is second to none.
All of our clients, across all industry sectors and disciplines, are firms who are at the pinnacle of their respective industry. With any of those clients we would not undertake a search assignment if the role was such that it did not lend itself easily to a search process. As a result, we will say “no” when we feel working on a role would compromise our position and that of our client in the market.
Search can be a widely misunderstood word in recruitment. Many people deem it to be tapping people on the shoulder who they know always have an eye open on the market. That is called networking.
Hemisphere Consulting offers a seamless search service to its clients, a very transparent, trusted methodology which delivers the right person to the client 99 times out of 100.
At all times our client can be made aware of what stage has been reached in the Search process, and at all times our research list and conversations with those approached individuals are made available for discussion.
At the outset we will agree to a timeframe that is suitable given the size of the assignment, and we will stick to that timeframe as far as possible. Should the assignment raise unforseen issues that may cause the timing to go astray, we again will meet with the client to discuss those factors and agree to work towards a new goal.
We will continue to work towards a satisfactory result for our client at all times, irrespective of the time spent – our fees are heavily weighted towards completion of the assignment rather than the shortlist.
